Slow Cooker Root Beer BBQ Pulled Pork | Cozycakes Cottage

I had a few requests for recipes I mention in grocery hauls so here is my Slow Cooker Root Beer BBQ Pulled Pork recipe. Talk about easy! I’ll do my best to film/blog recipes every week! Enjoy! ~Danielle

RECIPE LINK (a printable version is available here):

3 to 4 lb. pork roast
freshly ground black pepper
1 can root beer (12 oz.)
1 jar/18 oz of BBQ sauce or 2 to 2.5 cups homemade BBQ sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray’s)
Buns for serving

Lightly spray/grease your slow cooker pot. Trim the roast of a bit of excess fat (not all of it!). Place the roast in the pot and pepper it, pressing the pepper into the roast. In a bowl, mix the root beer and about 1/3 cup of BBQ sauce. Pour over and around the roast. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours (slow cookers vary so check your roast in 6-8 hour on low range). Drain liquid from slow cooker and shred the roast right in the slow cooker if you like. I like to keep a few tablespoons of the liquid in with the meat. Mix in the remaining bbq sauce and let heat/cook for another 15 to 30 minutes. Add/serve with extra BBQ sauce if you desire. Enjoy!

  1. I loved this! Would love to see more recipes! You did a great job editing. :)

  2. If you use a slow cooker liner, you don't have to spray the cooker. They cost about 20-50 cents each, depending on the brand, and make cleanup a breeze.

  3. Marguina Fernandez

Delish!!! Where do you get the little rabbit, ladybug that holds the sandwich?! My six year old would love them!!

  4. Im Making this tomorow, looks delicious! Think im going to top it with coleslaw though :)

  5. Really enjoying your cooking segments. Everything looks delicious!

  6. Where do you get the cute little food picks at? They are adorable!

  7. Looks tasty! Love how Munchie went from cute lil girl to professional product displayer … I know there is a term for it, just can't think what that is! Lol She was a highlight of your video 🙂 oh, and too funny to hear the growl in the background — glad to know it was your dog and not your tummy :)

  8. So cute! I love your videos. Even though I don't eat pork, I watched every second of this video.

  9. I am definitely going to make this next week !  And I am so like you when it comes to not wanting to waste sauces (or whatever) left in a container or jar…sometimes I am tempted to get some kitchen shears out and cut the top off of a plastic bottle to get that last dollop at the bottom…I don't actually do it,  but I have to stuff it deep into the trash, otherwise I'll hear the bottle calling my name, "Don't waste me…come back…come back…" :)
